Logitech K800 wireless illuminated keyboard sets to be your classy wireless keyboard

Logitech has been rather famous for their illuminated keyboards that look classy and cool, yet being very durable. I personally love Logitech’s products, and would heavily encourage others Logitech’s products, especially their Internet Pro Black Edition whenever any friends were looking for a set of quality keyboard and mouse. Logitech today introduced the Logitech K800 wireless illuminated keyboard, which they say will change your nightlife in front of your computer.

“Illumination can be a real drain on battery life, and we wanted to make sure we provided the great experience that you’ve come to expect from Logitech. So we put a lot of effort into maximizing the energy efficiency of the keyboard and the result is the Wireless Illuminated Keyboard K800.” – Guy Raeber, Logitech Sr. Product Marketing Manager, Keyboards and Desktops.

The keyboard features a microUSB port to recharge its internal batteries. The Wireless Illuminated Keyboard offers up to 10 days of battery life (depending on use and environmental conditions.) When the battery is about to run out, an indicator light comes on to alert you, and you can recharge the battery with the included micro-USB cable.

Due to obsession in energy efficiency, Logitech has also included a proximity sensor which will automatically turn on the backlight only when your hands are on the keyboard. The backlighting also automatically adjusts based on the amount of light in the room using ambient light sensors. However, Logitech has also given the user manual lighting adjustments that allow you to tailor the brightness based on your personal preference. Talk about flexibility and personalization, which I love. Of kush, since there’s manual setting, there’s also an on/off switch so you can conserve energy when you’re done typing for the day

The keyboard is compatible with Microsoft Windows 7, Vista, and XP. The Logitech K800 will be released later this month for $99.99. Each purchase comes with Logitech’s famous 3-year limited warranty.

Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type puts a touchscreen on your Series 40 featurephone

Here’s Nokia’s new simpleton phone with the standard 16-button keypad and a nice 2.4-inch QVGA touchscreen. Er… wait, what? Yeah, this simple phone has touchscreen! Nokia has done what traditionally not done, by putting touchscreen onto the budget phone. But of kush, that’s a resistive panel there, so don’t expect an ‘iPhone-like’ experience.

Running on Nokia’s S40 OS, with added touch-friendly UI, the touch panel comes as essentially a free extra rather than the fundamental navigation paradigm. It’s augmented with 3G, 802.11n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, and the whole thing is wrapped within a 9.6mm-thin brushed aluminium shell. All this, and costly at only €125 sometime this quarter, somehow I’m thinking that this will be selling crazier that hot cakes, among the lower income citizens. Would be selling very well too on developing countries and third-world countries, as I think the features are rather rich and extremely attractive for such a feature phone. Of kush, Nokia knows how to sell their phones after so many years.

“With the Nokia X3 we are giving consumers the best of both worlds by combining a touch screen and a keypad in an affordable device. We have given people a larger screen with clear icons and menus plus kept critical keys such as the send and end keys. We’ve also added dedicated function keys for important links like music and text messaging,” she said.
“We have designed the Nokia X3 to be a touch and type device because typing is ideal for SMS and social networking where fast and frequent input is needed, while touch is ideal for functions such as setting alarms, smooth browsing and controlling applications like music and games.
“Our research tells us consumers who have invested years in becoming fast one-handed, one-thumb texters want to maintain their speedy edge for SMS, chat and instant messaging – yet enjoy the benefits of touch as well,” continued McDowell.

Intel acquires McAfee for $7.68 billion

Intel acquires McAfee for $7.68 billion
Intel seemed to be in some sort of addiction for acquisition as of late. The company has just acquired Texas Instrument’s cable modem unit, and now it has picked up the Santa Clara-based security/antivirus company for a sweet $7.68 billion, which is about $48 per share in cash. McAfee will be functioning as a wholly owned subsidiary under the control of its Software and Services group. Possibly Intel would focus on security for connected devices.
“The cyber threat landscape has changed dramatically over the past few years, with millions of new threats appearing every month,” said McAfee CEO Dave DeWalt.”We believe this acquisition will result in our ability to deliver a safer, more secure and trusted Internet-enabled device experience.”
“With the rapid expansion of growth across a vast array of Internet-connected devices, more and more of the elements of our lives have moved online,” said Paul Otellini, Intel president and CEO. “In the past, energy-efficient performance and connectivity have defined computing requirements. Looking forward, security will join those as a third pillar of what people demand from all computing experiences.
“The addition of McAfee products and technologies into the Intel computing portfolio brings us incredibly talented people with a track record of delivering security innovations, products and services that the industry and consumers trust to make connecting to the Internet safer and more secure,” Otellini added.

Internet Explorer 9, officially going official in September

Microsoft will be holding a big gala in San Francisco to celebrate ‘The Beauty of the Web’, though I can’t comprehend what’s so beautiful about ‘01010101010101010101’ with extensive makeup. September 15 is the day guys, though Microsoft wishes to say very sorry for XP loyalists, as IE 9 goes only to Vista and 7 users. Though, how good does IE 9 perform against the likes of the fox on fire or the Pokeball-like browser, is really up to our guess.

Logitech G930 Headset, G700 Mouse and G510 Keyboard all for Wireless Gaming

Logitech has updated their headset products with this new G930. It comes with Logitech’s original 7.1 surround sound gaming headset, but wireless. Logitech says the G930 uses “gaming-grade wireless” tech, whatever that actually means. But what happens if you’re in the middle of a frag session and the batteries die? Whoops!
The charging station basically turns it into a standard USB 7.1 gaming headset, so you can keep playing while it’s charging. Smart, right? Like the preceding G35, it’s got three programmable keys on the side to use for voice morphing, music or chat controls. It even comes with a premium ‘gaming’ grade price tag of $160. *shrugs* But that’s how gaming gears costs these day, leeching those poor and ‘innocent’ lil` gamers.
