GenosTV Cyclops Universal Controller

GenosTV has created the Cyclops universal controller that comes with a ergonomic design that fits perfectly between two hands. The Cyclops will works as a universal remote control for TVs and consumer electronics devices.

In addition to playback control buttons, the Cyclops has a QWERTY keyboard and a touchpad, making it also ideal for uses with HTPC as well as cellphone, smartphone as it uses Bluetooth connection.

Dropcam Echo WiFi Security Camera

A company called 88Volts launches the new Dropcam Echo, which is an upgrade to the original Dropcam, adding audio support. The Dropcam Echo is a WiFi security camera that let users monitor their home on the web or iPhone, when they are traveling or working.

The Dropcam Echo can detect noise and motion. Once detected, you will receive immediate alerts via email or text or push notification on iPhone. The Echo includes DVR capability and users may pay $8.95 per month for 7 days recording or $24.95 for 30 days recording.

The Dropcam Echo is priced at $279.

Acer Aspire One AOD260 and AO533 Heading to the US

Acer is launching its Aspire One AOD260 and Aspire One AO533 netbooks in the US market. These netbooks are both based on Intel Atom platform and come with a 10.1-inch LED-backlit display. The former comes with a sophisticated design that makes a fashion statement while the latter offers a long battery life.



The AOD260 is boosted by Intel Atom N450 processor and the AO533 packs Atom N475. They have 1GB of memory and 250GB hard drive. You can expect WiFi connectivity, built-in webcam, a large keyboard with multi-gesture touchpad.

The Aspire One AOD260 is less than 1-inch tin and weighs 2.43-2.76 pounds. It comes in black, charcoal, pink and purple. On the other hand, the selling point of the AO533 is its 8 hours of battery life with a 6-cell battery. It’s glossy cover in red, black or white is complimented by a chrome rim and striking logos.

Acer Aspire One AOD260 and Aspire One AO533 will be available soon starting at $298.00 and $329.99 respectively.

Acer Aspire One AO721 and AO521 AMD Netbooks

In addition to the 10-inch AOD260 and AO533, Acer also brings the AMD-powered Aspire One AO721 and AO521 netbooks to the States. The 11.6-inch AO721 and 10.1-inch AO521 both sports AMD Athlon Neo K125 processor and ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics.

The Aspire One AO721 comes with a 11.6-inch LED-backlit display. It packs 2GB of memory and up to 250GB hard drive. The sleek netbook is less than 1-inch thin and gets a black matte, mesh-textured cover and full-sized keyboard.



Acer’s AO521 instead boasts a 10.1-inch screen, 1GB of RAM and 250GB hard drive. It is available in two fashionable, patterned designs in black and brown and has a smooth, glossy exterior.

The AO721 and AO521 both include HDMI output, multi-gesture touchpad, webcam and support for WiFi connectivity. They start at $429.99 and $349.99, respectively.

NEC V421 Full HD Professional LCD Display

NEC announced its latest addition to the V-series, the V421 Full HD professional LCD display for entry-level digital signage users. The 42-inch display offers a wide range of connection including 5 BNC, HDMI and Ethernet port that allows remote monitor and control of the display.

The NEC V421 features 1920x1080p Full HD resolution, up to 500cd/m2 brightness, 1300:1 contrast ratio, public-display-grade panel, advanced cooling fan-based technology. It supports TileMatrix for video walls of up to 25 displays in a 5×5 configuration. It provides HDMI, DVI-D, 5 BNC, D-sub in/out and S-video. The V421 will be released in July 2010 for $999.
